The last day of our class! A very condensed, non-comprehensive list of Bible study resources online is here. This list will grow some as I incorporate links, so check back in a week or so.

Week Five, 6/7/2011

We are reviewing nouns and adding in the related topics of the definite article’s endings and the declension of adjectives. All of these are brought together here. We looked at examples of the use of adjectives. Students received a summary of all five weeks’ vocabulary.

Week Four, 5/31/11

Tonight we introduced the noun. Of course, one of the challenges is knowing our English grammar! The main handout on nouns is here. Here is a summary of the vocabulary so far (including the vocabulary from tonight’s class).

Week Three, 5/24/2011

Week 3’s class outline is available here. I have posted the handout for practicing translating present active indicative verbs. The in-class presentation is also available for viewing in your browser. (It is largely review.)

Unfortunately, the Louw and Nida lexicon arranged by semantic domain appears to be out of print (book version at least). Used copies appear to be pretty expensive. If you can, I recommend you buy the Abridged Edition of the New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology (20 bucks!). Next week we discuss the amazing (and expensive!) Bauer, Danker, Arndt & Gingrich.

Week Two, 5/10/2011

A first look at verbs! The class outline is here.  An overview of the information coded into a verb’s form is given in this handout. Homework (as much or as little as you want to do) is on the class outline.

Week One, 5/3/2011

Here you can download or view the week one outline as a pdf or online (though fonts may not behave in the online version), the fun ease-into-the-Greek-alphabet worksheet, alphabet practice pages, the online version of the on-screen presentation, the Scripture Selections Sheet or J. C. Beckman’s Paradigm Sheet (don’t be intimidated).

External pages: Want to learn more? Here is great page with discussion and many links about various systems of Koine Greek pronunciation. An in-depth article is here. Another page offers a fun way to practice the alphabet with animated illustration and sound.
